On Saturday, June 3, 2017, Savannah Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. observed its’ Annual Founders’ Day on the campus of Savannah State University.
Savannah Chapter of TLOD was chartered in Savannah on November 21, 1981. From that date on, the chapter has been an outstanding organization in Savannah with their major focus being Top Teens of America. The organization has also committed itself to the Status of Women, Senior Citizens, Beautification and Community Sponsorship.

Mitchell, president of Savannah Chapter and Teen Jermaine Jackson, president of Top Teens.
During the program, one thousand dollar scholarships were awarded to Ce’Asia De’Nay Griffin, valedictorian of Savannah Early College High School and Miah Yasima Monae Jones, valedictorian of Savannah High School.
Monetary donations were also presented to Virginia Parham for the West Broad Street YMCA, to Lady Gina Taylor, executive Director for Greenbriar Children’s Center and to Ladies Janie Bruen and Betty Lasseter for the King Tisdale Cottage.
Lady Annette Mitchell presented service awards to outgoing officers Ladies Theresa Wright, Johnny Holmes and Belinda Brown. A plaque was presented to the “Top Lady of the Year” Lady Deborah Adams.
Presidential awards were presented to all thrust chairs and to the many Ladies who had gone beyond the call of duty during the year. Gifts were given to all Ladies and Top Teens. The culminating activities of the Founders’ Day Program were the installation of officers for both Top Ladies and Top Teens.
