Savannah Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. has elected Lady Omie Bradley Flournoy as its “Top Lady of the Year.”
Lady Omie has been a member of Top Ladies for fourteen years. She currently serves as 2nd Vice President, Projects chair, chairperson of membership and as a member of Top Teens of America thrust.
Lady Omie is a member of St. Thomas A.M.E Church where Rev. James Sheppard is her pastor. At St. Thomas, Lady Omie serves on the Steward Board and the finance committee. She has received many awards as a member of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She has been a member of Alpha Theta Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for forty-eight years, serving four of those years as president. She has also served as an officer on the state and regional levels of the sorority. She is now an active member of Chatham Retired Educators Association where she serves as scrapbook chairperson.
As an honor graduate in the 1969 graduating class from Alfred Ely Beach High School, she continued her education at Savannah State College and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in English Education. She received her Master’s Degree from Cambridge College and her Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University. She retired from the Savannah Chatham County Public School System in 2009 after thirty-four years of teaching.
After years of dedicated service to the organization, it is truly an honor to be elected “Top Lady of the Year.”
