Savannah Arts Academy Named one of America’s Best High Schools

The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System is proud to announce that Savannah Arts Academy was recently named by Newsweek Magazine as one of “America’s Best High Schools.”

This annual list is a measure of success in the preparation of students for post secondary education. More than 10,000 high schools from across the country participated based on performance data from the 2009-2010 school year, with only the top 500 making the final list. Savannah Arts ranked number 107, boasting a 100% graduation rate, with 98% college bound.

The primary factors that determined the rankings for the school included, the four year on-time graduation rate, the percent of 2010 graduates who enrolled immediately into college, AP tests given per graduate, the average SAT and ACT score, and the amount of AP courses offered per graduate.
