Savannah 09′ Inaugural Ball

Black Women of Influence is sponsoring The Audacity of Hope Ball in honor of the 44th President of the United States. Brunette Mitchell-Dixon is the editor of the Savannah African American Business Magazine and founder of 100/Plus Black Women of Influence (B.W.O.I.). In January 2009, B.W.O.I., will mark its 6th anniversary with an Inaugural Ball at the Beautiful new Ralph Mark Gilbert Civil Rights Ballroom, 460 MLK Jr., Blvd., Savannah, Georgia.

The celebratory reception will be on January 23rd, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., for members and the 2009 Inductees. The gala, which is a formal affair, begins at 8: p.m. and will feature world class entertainment by performing artists’ Dominoes Theory. The musicians are versatile and can play great music including R&B, neo soul and jazz. “They are guaranteed to keep our guess on their toes”, says Mitchell-Dixon.

Throughout the evening, expect to hear brief messages from elected officials and cheers from satisfied voters that “Change” has come. Mitchell-Dixon says, she hopes that we will also take into account, reflect on, and honor our heroes, those who are yet gone but who have carved the path for great leaders like Barack Obama.
