Satoshi Kodaira defeated Si Woo Kim Sunday in the RBC Heritage. Kodaira came from 6 shots behind in the final round and made a 25-foot birdie out on the third hold to defeat Kim.
“I tried my best and the putts didn’t drop,” Kim said. “It is what it is.”
It was Kodaira first PGA Tour victory. Kodaira has won three tournaments in Japan. He also played in the Masters, where he tied for 28th.
“I wasn’t really thinking about winning,” Kodaira said of his thoughts early Sunday,
During the RBC Heritage he finished off his round of 66 to get to 12- under par.
He opened with a 73, then a 63 on Friday, his best round. In the final round he had six birdies.
Kodaira became the sixth consecutive winner at Harbour Town to come back from at least three shots behind on the final day.
Bryson DeChambeau (66) and Luke List (72) were tied for third.
