The Salute To Our Heroes Comedy Show will be held on Saturday, November 15th, 2014 at the Johnny Mercer Theatre. This show features Lavell Crawford, John Witherspoon, Cocoa Brown and Rudy Rush.

Lavell Crawford is perhaps best known for his role on Breaking Bad, Lavell next hits the big screen alongside Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, and Uma Thurman in American Ultra for Lionsgate. To those in the know, Lavell is one of the hottest artists breaking out of the urban scene in years. With his original voice and consistent wealth of new material, Lavell has started selling out big time at theaters, major arena tours as headliner and closer; colleges, casinos, and clubs across the world generating seven-figure income in that area. Recent projects include his on-going recurring roles on The Crazy Ones, Super Fun Night, and Always Sunny In Philadelphia, as well as his work for several weeks as Guest Host of the Steve Harvey Radio Show. Lavell has had a deal for a scripted series at Comedy Central as well.

The truth with Cocoa Brown is…if you took a dab of Richard Pryor’s honesty, a teaspoon of Clair Huxtable’s educated fervor and a cup of Pearl Bailey’s girl next door sassiness, you’d get a dynamic dish known as CoCoa Brown.

Not only a comedian but educated and well-rounded women with a Masters in Education that will make you laugh as you are getting ‘schooled” on a variety of topics! Brown has performed in front of a variety of audiences including Kennedy Center Honors Richard Pryor, Def Comedy Jam Tour and on Bill Bellamy’s “Who’s Got Jokes” competition on TV1. She has also appeared on nine consecutive seasons on BET’s Comic View..

You’ve seen John Whiterspoon in everything from popular music videos alongside Jay Z and Sugar Ray—to sitcoms opposite The Wayans Brothers and Saturday Night Live’s, Tracy Morgan—to blockbuster movies alongside Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, Chris Tucker and Ice Cube, amongst others. Not only does Witherspoon’s work span over four decades to include blockbuster movies, hit-television shows, commercials, and top-rated music videos, but he’s coined his own catch phrases… as in… “Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang!” and “You Gotta Co-ordinate!”

Rudy Rush , a veteran of the professional comedy circuit has experienced a wide spectrum of the entertainment business, from touring colleges and clubs to becoming the youngest host of the longest-running African-American syndicated show, Showtime at the Apollo. Rudy parlayed his Apollo notoriety into major projects with Dave Chappelle and Martin Lawrence, while also appearing on shows such as Def Comedy Jam. For ticket info contact Sacannah Civic Center.
