The children and young adult talent and fashion program, sponsored by Ruth Chapter #3 0.E.S. is an annual event that is held yearly to benefit all children in the Savannah community. Children and young adults ages 1 year to 16 years old participated in this program and all of them did a wonderful job and appeared to have a very good time.
The program was held on May 1, 2011, at 5:00pm, at our newly decorative Masonic Hall, located at 912 Drayton St. We gave each child a chance to express themselves in their own way, displaying God’s gift in many diverse roles along with positive intervention with other children from all areas of Chatham County.
The youth were given the opportunity to express themselves in various ways. They were in charge of the program starting with the devotion, emceeing, modeling, praise dancing and reading of poems they personally created and dedicated to their parents and grandparents. After the program ended, the youth were served first by members of the Chapter, and were all given a meal and other treats for their relentlessness in making the program a delightful success. All participants were also given certificates.
Ruth Chapter #3 will continue to relegate these types of activities for our youth in the Savannah community. We would like to give a special thanks to the parents and other family members and friends who supported their children and attended the program. Also, special thanks are extended to other International Members who supported this Event. We thank you too!
“It takes a village to raise a child,” and with the help of The Lord, the members of Ruth Chapter #3 Order of Eastern Stars will to continue to be a part of this important vi1lage in our community.
A special thanks to the program Chair was Sis. Pauline Hills and Co-Chair Sis. Nettie Blake. Both ladies did an excellent job. Thanks also go to the loyal Members of the chapter who continually support all efforts of Ruth Chapter #3 O.E.S. who allow us to remain a positive and productive agent and role model in our community.
In March 2011, at the Executive Council in Detroit, Michigan, Ruth Chapter #3 O.E.S. received a special recognition from our Supreme President, Illustrious James O. Dogan, for being the “One Chapter in Georgia” that has continually and consistently exceeded in community service and charitable efforts in the state of Ga.
