Raise a glass with us and celebrate the New Year in true Savannah style at the Savannah Waterfront Association’s “Up the Cup” countdown sponsored by Wet Willie’s. The New Year’s Eve celebration takes place Monday, December 31st beginning at 2PM on historic River Street.
Live bands and DJs will rock Rousakis Plaza with a fantastic light show while we countdown the final hours of 2018. G100’s Mia Mance and Stacy Scott from Hot 98.3 & Rewind 107.9 will be on hand to lead us into the New Year in style as the 6-foot “to-go” cup rises on River Street. Squash kicks-off the live music on the Rousakis Stage at 3:30PM Monday afternoon. Great music continues with The Emerald Empire Band at 8:00PM. DJ Gabe will also be spinning tunes throughout the day and evening.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun. We’ve got great bands performing and organized corn hole and beerpong tournaments with cash prizes. Up the Cup is our fun way of toasting the New Year. New York may have a crystal ball, and Atlanta has a big peach, but only in Savannah can you get a drink in a roadie cup and enjoy a beautiful evening on the waterfront,” says Victoria Smith, Executive Director for the Savannah Waterfront Association. “It is also a privilege to be helping our community partner, the Alzheimer’s Association, raise awareness for such a worthy cause,” continued Smith. The New Year’s Eve “Up the Cup” countdown clock will be displayed at 8:00 pm until it hits the midnight hour, followed by champagne toast. This year’s spectacular firework display is proudly sponsored by Hyatt Regency Savannah, Marriott Savannah Riverfront, The Alida Hotel, The Westin Savannah Harbor, Homewood Suites and Savannah Riverboat Cruises.
