The Everybody Counts Immunization Coalition will host a representative from the Georgia Immunization Program to present a report card on the status of immunizations around the state of Georgia – especially the coastal counties of Bryan, Chatham, and Effingham – at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens at the Historic Bamboo Farm located at 2 Canebrake Road in Savannah.
The report card will be delivered during the 20th anniversary celebration of the Everybody Counts Immunization Coalition, a collaboration of community agencies focused on promoting immunizations.
“April 20-27 is also National Infant Immunization Week and the coalition thought this would be an appropriate time to give an update on how our communities measure up when it comes to protecting our children and adults through the use of lifesaving immunizations,” said Marianne Pappas, former Coalition Chair.
During the event, Dr. Michael DeMauro, a physician at Pediatric Associates of Savannah, will also begin his two-year stint as chairperson of the Coalition.
The mission of the Everybody Counts Immunization Coalition is to improve immunization rates in Bryan, Chatham, and Effingham counties through collaborative efforts of community partners by providing public awareness and educational campaigns on the importance of timely immunizations.
