Reflecting On Ben Tucker’s Legacy


Blake Mr. Ben Tucker has made a major impact on the Savannah Community. He has been an awesome mentor in my life. I received his scholarship for two years (2010 and 2011). One of the fondest memories I have of him is having the honor to interview him and recording him playing his bass violin for my thesis documentary “Gospel Music Is...” He will be greatTiffany ly missed.

Frances Sams I met Ben over 40 years ago in New York. He was playing with the Billy Taylor Trio. He was a very nice person and a meant a lot to our community.[/caption] clear=”left”
Chalesetta Blake I remember meeting Mr. Tucker when I was a young person singing with the Savannah Community Choir. I can remember him as the owner of 1230 WSOK Radio station and him being at the radio station along with Mr. E. Larry McDuffie for many benefits for the community. Mr. Tucker has always been a man of great character. He will be forever missed for that beautiful smile and always playing those melodious tunes on his bass violin.
