Public Meeting to be Held on Area Mail Processing Study

On September 15, it was announced that we were beginning an Area Mail Processing (AMP) feasibility study at the Savannah Processing and Distribution Facility to see if it would make sense to consolidate some operations into the Charleston, Macon and/or Jacksonville Processing and Distribution Centers.

The North Florida District office has completed its review and submitted it to the Southwest Area Office for consideration.

A public meeting will be held to explain the proposed changes at 6 p.m. November 29 at the Southwest Chatham Library, 14097 Abercorn Street in Savannah.

At the public meeting we will explain the AMP study results and what operational changes we propose to make. Any proposed changes must be approved by the Area Vice President before they can be implemented.

Comments on the proposal from employees and the public will be considered before any decision is made. I . You also can submit your:comments on the study up to 15 days after the public meeting.
