Pinkney Named State Finalist in Miss Georgia Pre Teen Pageant

The National American Miss held their 2009 State Pageant July 2-5 at the Hilton Atlanta in Atlanta GA where Zakeyla Pinkney was pre-teen State Finalist.

National American Miss is a program designed to help girls develop poise and self-confidence that will help them in whatever they choose to do in life.

The basic competitions were: Formal wear, modeling, personal introductions, interview and community involvement. Workshops were offered to teach skills such as posture, good grooming, speaking etc. Additional contests such as : talent, modeling, photogenic, art, academic achievement, spirit etc. were available for the girls to select to feature their personality, style and interests.

Zakeyla earned a State Finalist trophy and a trophy for program participation, the spirit award and a portfolio photogenic award.

Her escort was her cousin Carldre Chisholm. Zakeyla is the daughter of Carla Elijah and Jacqurus Pinkney.

She is the granddaughter of Claretha Pinkney and the late Clarence (Ponya) Pinkney Jr. She attends Juliette Gordon Low Elementary School, a rising 5th grader and worships at First Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Gregory A. Tyson Sr. Pastor.
