The men of Mu Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. held a “Bridge Builders” Luncheon on Saturday, November 3, 2018 to honor the Mu Phi Legends. The honorees included members of Mu Phi, the local graduated chapter of Omega, who have completed more than 50 years of service to the Fraternity, as well as the widows of members of the Fraternity who were Mu Phi Legends. The spectacular event was held at Windsor Hall in Savannah.
The Omega Legends and the widows (Quettes) were treated royally throughout the event. After a delicious meal, the men were introduced with details about their years and places of induction into Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. Each of the men made brief remarks after they were ceremoniously outfitted in beautiful purple Omega blazers. They were also given purple designer neckties and Omega lapel pins.
Savannah Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn H. Bell presented a heartfelt tribute to the Quettes who supported and assisted their now deceased husbands as they lived lives of “true Omega Men.” The official toast was led by Omega Charlie Smith.
Moses Calhoun, III is Basileus of Mu Phi Chapter and Arthur O. Howard chaired the Omega Bridge Builders Event Committee.
