Nicole Weller, head golf teaching professional at The Landings Club, has been named the recipient of the 2013 Junior Golf Leadership Award by the LPGA Teaching & Club Professionals Southeast Section.
“I am honored to be selected as the LPGA T&CP SE Junior Golf Leader two years in a row,” said Weller, who now is in her ninth year at The Landings Club, where her husband Ty Weller, also is a PGA golf professional. “Our LPGA T&CP section winners and nominees are all such wonderful leaders and I am very happy to be included in their company.”
The section award also includes an automatic nomination for 2013 National LPGA T&CP Junior Golf Leader and is the latest in a list of honors for Weller, who was recently named the 2013 PGA of America National Junior Golf Leader and 2012 Georgia PGA Horton Smith Section Winner. Weller is also a Golf Digest Best 50 Women Teachers, a 3-time U.S. Kids Top 50 Kids Teachers and has been named on Golf Digest Best Young Teacher list. Nicole is dedicated to growing the game of golf and serves on the 2013/2014 PGA Youth Golf Development Committee.
Recognized as one of the most dynamic golf instructors in the southeast, Weller is a former Rolex Junior All-American who went on to play four years of collegiate golf at Wake Forest University. A native of Lakeville, Mass., Weller authored and published an activity book titled “Stick to Sports: Let’s Play Golf” that is designed to help youngsters ages 4 to 8, embrace the game of golf (www.sticktosports.com).
