New Mount Olive Baptist Church Savannah Awards Gala Held


New Mount Olive Baptist Church held their Savannah Awards Gala last Saturday evening presenting awards to those unsung heroes and sheroes of the Savannah-Chatham Community. Among the recipients were The Savannah Tribune’s Vice President and Advertising Director, Tanya Milton; Rev. Matthew Southall Brown, Sr., Pastor Emeritus St. John Baptist Church; Desmond Deval of D&D Photography; Albertha Dillon, Alicia Blakely; Antwan Lang; Apostle Scotty Mitchell; Chadrick Mance; Crystal Wiggins; Dea. Detric Leggett; Chief Apostle Dr. Paulette Jones Olasoji; Ernestine Riley; Hip-Hop Ambassador Flau’jae Johnson; Frances Bright Johnson, Greg Daniels, Atty. Larry Chisolm, Lester Anthony of Lester’s Florist; Mahogany Bowers founder of Blessings in a Book Bag; Martha D. Massey, Narobia’s Bonton Restaurant; Rev. Johnny Fleming; Rev. Dr. Leonard Small; artist Richard Law; Ronald Gilliard, founder of HotSpot Magazine; Sarah McClendon; Timothy Riley, Sr. and Gertrude Robinson, founder Star Charter School. Sis. Beverly Trotter had the vision of the Gala and saw it through.
