Are you an up and coming leader? Do you know someone who is? Step Up Savannah is looking for emerging leaders— young and more seasoned— to participate in a leadership course, starting in September.
The Neighborhood Leadership Academy at Savannah State University is open to men and women, 21 years and older from Savannah/Chatham County. This free 12-session course is designed to develop participants’ knowledge of our community, and sharpen personal leadership and advocacy skills.
Selected participants will attend evening sessions once a week, taught by other community leaders and experts. Participants also will be expected to work in small groups to research and present on a neighborhood or community issue during the course.
Interested applicants must submit an application and be interviewed for the program. Completed applications are due on August 8, 2014. Classes are scheduled to start the third week of September, at Savannah State University.
This program is held in partnership with Savannah State University and the City of Savannah. The Neighborhood Leadership Academy is made possible by a grant from the Charles A. Frueauff Foundation.
Applications are available on the Step Up web site (www.stepupsavannah.org) home page, or by calling the office (912- 232-6747), or by e-mailing Janeene Johnson (firstname.lastname@example.org). Completed applications may be mailed to the Step Up office at: 428 Bull St., Suite 208; Savannah, Ga. 31401.
