The National Council of Negro Women Savannah Youth Section, collected and delivered more than 80 coats, jackets and blazers to the students at Gadsden Elementary school to help them stay warm during the cold weather.

Every item collected and donated to “Warm the Body, Warm the Heart” Coat Drive was in excellent condition. Dr. Debra Jones, Principal at Gadsden Elementary said, “The coats filled a great need for students and parents alike.”

The National Council of Negro Women Savannah Youth Section wishes to express heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Savannah-Chatham community at large and NCNW members for their donations in helping to make our coat drive a success. We are grateful and appreciative for the partnership with LaTonya Singleton, owner of Signature Furniture who graciously offered her store as a Host Site for the collection of coats.

NCNW Youth Section extends an invitation to young ladies between the ages of 12-17 to join their youth group.

Monthly meetings are held at the Hoskins Center located on the campus of Memorial Hospital on 66th Street.
