Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church to Host Ordination Service for Minister Quin Rawls


Hilton Head Island, SC-November 19,2012-Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church hosted its formal ordination services for Minister Quin Rawls at 4 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 25 at the church, 382 Squire Pope Road, on Hilton Head. Rev. Dr. Alvin Petty, pastor of the First African Baptist Church on Hilton Head Island, will be the speaker for the service.

Rawls serves on the ministerial staff, led by church pastor Rev. Ben Williams, and the music ministry at Mt. Calvary. He has a Master of Arts degree in Theology and Church Music from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. At the present time, he is enrolled in the doctoral program at Covington Theological Seminary in Savannah, Georgia, where he is pursuing a Ph.D. in Religious Education. Minister Rawls is committed to making a difference in the lives of people by presenting the whole gospel of Jesus Christ through song, word and testimony. In doing so, he has organized a music ministry made up of local musicians called the Praise City Band.

He plans to expand the music ministry to a local community with many different music performances and productions. In May, he released a CD of contemporary gospel music titled, “A New Walk” with Tate Music Group.
