At the April 18, 2018 meeting of PDK Chapter 1219 Betty Morgan, candidate for SCCPSS Chairperson expressed her very serious concerns, commitment to leadership, and continued service to the education of children. Morgan stressed focusing on unifying efforts to achieve the goals and objectives for the district. She emphasized the role of parents in preparing and supporting students to get the optimum benefit of their school experience. The need for a stronger partnership with parents to more effectively control and utilize technology in teaching was also expressed. . She further observed that while technology effectively supplements education, is easily accessible, and internet navigation is palm ready for students of all ages; students are easily vulnerable to the negative impacts affecting attitudes and behaviors that are counterproductive to achieving academically. The PDK Board was invited to attend a Candidates Forum at the Georgia Southern Armstrong Campus in Savannah on April 26, 2018 in the old Kroger location at 6:00 PM to hear their positions regarding the issues affecting
Savannah Chatham County Public Schools.
