Microsoft Offers Unprecedented Savings for Minority Students

Microsoft Corp. kicked off its ultimate deal campaign with the Ultimate Steal Promotion that is targeting 12 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Hispanic student organizations at colleges and universities in the U.S.

The campaign was created to offer students attending these institutions opportunities to purchase the Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 Suite at a much discounted price, $59.95 (U.S.) – a discount up to 91 percent from estimated retail price of $679.95 (U.S.) – as well as encourage student-led organizations to become involved with the Ultimate Steal Affiliate Program. Microsoft’s continued commitment to education in diverse communities was the force behind the program.

“At Microsoft, we understand the needs of the college and university student population in the U.S., and we want to provide students with the tools they need to succeed in their careers,” said Naman Khan, Worldwide Product Manager, Office Ultimate Steal. “The Ultimate Steal Promotion allows students to maximize their productivity and reach their full potential, at a fraction of the price they would otherwise pay at a retail store.

These savings are especially important in today’s challenging economy.”

Office Ultimate 2007 helps students achieve more in school by providing them with the tools to better organize assignments, create more dynamic presentations and manage projects so they can do more in less time, all while gaining technology skills that will allow them to compete in the work force after graduating.

Microsoft is also demonstrating its commitment to be the industry leader in bringing technology programs and services to minorities and women through its Ultimate Steal Affiliate Program, where students will be able to earn money to help support their student clubs and organizations.

This program provides student organizations with a unique URL that allows students to refer other students who attend their school to take part in this great offer.

For each product downloaded from their dedicated URL, Microsoft will provide the student organization with one dollar from the sales.

“We like to provide Hispanic students in engineering the opportunity to have the latest software and technology for their studies, and Office Ultimate 2007 offers great solutions at a very affordable price,” said Frank Barragan, IT manager from SHPE.

“We commend Microsoft for its continuous efforts to empower diverse communities with the right tools for a bright future.”
