Men And Women’s Day Celebration At Asbury United

Pastor Doreen Smalls and the members of Asbury United Methodist Church, 1201 Abercorn Street cordially invite family, friends, and the community to its Men and Women’s Day celebration, July 21,2013, at 11:00 a.m. Our theme is “They Will Know We are Christians By Our Love”. The guest minister will be Reverend Marilyn L. Felder. She is a Dynamic, Anointed woman of God and is renown in South Georgia and Florida, as a motivational speaker, preacher and teacher of the Christian belief.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, Reverend Felder, an ordained minister, is a product of Savannah Chatham County Public Schools where she graduated from Groves High School, attended Armstrong Atlantic University and is a graduate from Covington Theological Seminary.

Reverend Felder is a pillar in our community. Many of her ministerial accomplishments include Sisters in Service (Mission in Action), Coordinator of the First District Mission in Action of the General Missionary Baptist Convention in Georgia, Inc., co-founder of The Community Prayer Breakfast, Deaconess Board, Sunday School Teacher, Member of the Gospel Chorus and co-founder of The Community and Church Bible Studies.

Some of Reverend Felder’s past and present organizations, committees and board memberships include the Advisory Committee for IUCUC in the Department of Natural Sciences, advisor for Savannah State University Christian Student Union, spotlight in the “Academics Connection News Magazine of Savannah State University” as an Outstanding Employee, the Board of Barnabas Christian Counseling Center, charter member of the Hostess City Business and Professional Women’s Club, a finalist for Outstanding Young Woman of the Year Award by the Savannah Jaycees, and organized and led three marches against crime in the City of Savannah.

Reverend Marilyn L. Felder is the daughter of the late Deacon Ralph Lipsey, Jr. and Dessie L. Lipsey. She is the wife of Rev. John David Felder, Jr., and they both serve as Associate Ministers at First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Clarence (Teddy) Williams, Pastor.
