Memorial’s Leslie Petruzzelli Appointed To Healthcare Board


Leslie Petruzzelli, MBA, R.N., executive director of perioperative services at Memorial University Medical Center, has been appointed to the 2015 Association of Operative Room Nurses (AORN)/Cardinal Health advisory board.

The advisory board’s objective is to provide insight for Cardinal Health business leaders about the key challenges and needs faced by perioperative nurses and leaders. Cardinal Health is a $91 billion company that works to make healthcare services more cost-effective.

The AORN/Cardinal Health advisory board was formed 20 years ago to encourage networking among AORN members, perioperative leaders, and Cardinal Health’s leaders. The board includes the top 25 perioperative nurse leaders from across the country, the CEO of AORN, the current president of AORN, and five to six Cardinal Health leaders. The group meets twice a year to discuss topics ranging from a culture of safety in the operating room to executive compensation in healthcare, and healthcare reform updates.

The Association of Operating Room Nurses, AORN, Inc., represents the interests of more than 160,000 perioperative nurses and provides nursing education, standards, and services that enable optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures.
