MEGAGENESIS is a program designed to promote a college-going culture by providing college and career information to all students and parents. MEGAGENESIS was founded in 1995 in Newport News, Virginia by Dr. Zke Zimmerman. Zimmerman began the program in Savannah on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at Sol C. Johnson High School. A survey of the audience found students from Savannah, Effingham, Vidalia, Charleston, SC, and Orangeburg, SC. There were 417 attendees of whom approximately 90 were parents and chaperones.

The program includes seven segments: a College Fair, Corporate Exhibits, Motivational Speakers, Career Workshops, Parent Workshops, College and University Exhibits, and Panel

Discussions and Tips on “How to Pay for College.” The motivational speaker for this event will be Elvin Dowling, a nationally-acclaimed public speaker, mentor, author, and one of America’s leading advocate for achieving greatness by embracing change. All students (Grades 5-12) (from public and private schools) and parents are invited to attend. High school seniors are encouraged to bring their transcripts. Some colleges will do onsite admission or scholarship offers. In the past

seven years students have received over $6 million in scholarships through connections at MEGAGENESIS. A complimentary lunch will be provided for all attendants, participants, and presenters.
