Savannah State freshman Marcus Scott was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Newcomer of the Week in a press release from the conference office on Tuesday after an outstanding performance in an 89-79 win over Kentucky State last week.
Scott, a Hinesville, Ga. native, led the Tigers in their first win of the season, with a season-high 21 points. He shot 63% from the field and was perfect on free-throws, dropping 10-of-10 from the line. He lead the field in steals as well with four.
