Estelle Mannion will deliver the keynote speech at the 7th Annual Spirit of Excellence Black Business Awards to be held Saturday, October 17, 7:00 p.m. at Savannah Marriott Riverfront.

Mannion created the Spirit of Excellence Black Business Awards in 2003 to promote and showcase the accomplishments of African American business leaders and outstanding individuals. As keynote speaker of this year’s Spirit of Excellence Black Business Awards, Mannion, an “Unstoppable Woman”, is charting another course.

Always an entrepreneur with a background in sales, when she returned, she opened Estelle’s Boutique and Consignment Shop in Jasper County. She closed the business when she was hired as an Account Executive with a local television station. It was during her tenure at the television station that she learned the different aspects of media sales that proved to be very valuable. While there, she learned few African American businesses used media advertising, and that many could not afford it.

Upon leaving the TV station, Ms. Mannion wasted no time launching her own business, Stellar Productions Advertising. After a few years of maintaining an agency business, Mannion wanted to do more for her clients.

She visualized a gala event where the local black business community could come together in a grand fashion to network, connect, and celebrate their accomplishments and achievements.

Being the trailblazer that she is, she went where there was no path and left a trail. She created The Spirit of Excellence Black Business Awards, a event that is in a class by itself.

“The Spirit of Excellence has been a blessing to the African American community,” Mannion said. “There are no other awards that acknowledge the hard work of those in the africanamerican community”.

She continues to work hard at coordinating and producing an event that Charlie Brown of Good Service LLC has dubbed, “The Academy Awards of Savannah.”

Some of the proceeds from this year’s event will benefit the EOA Emergency Assistance Program.
