Major Sponsors Make the Marquee for 2011 Georgia History Festival

The sponsors are in! Georgia Historical Society (GHS) has tallied the list of major sponsors for the 2011 Georgia History Festival (formerly Georgia Days). Those donors contributing at the $25,000 to $50,000 levels include: The Coca-Cola Company, Enmark, Jepson Associates, Southern LNG, Delta Airlines, Inc., Savannah Morning News, Georgia Power, and SunTrust.

“We are fortunate to have such an overwhelming response to this year’s Georgia History Festival events,” Dr. Todd Groce, President and CEO of Georgia Historical Society, said. “The sponsorship levels this year are truly a vote of confidence in GHS’s objective to teach Georgia history and make it accessible to students of all ages.”

The Georgia History Festival is the signature K-12 educational program of the Georgia Historical Society and consists of two weeks of programs and events that bring Georgia history to life for all enthusiasts.

The 2011 Festival lineup includes:Georgia History Festival Kickoff Lecture Thursday, February 3, 2011, 7 P.M. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Savannah; Colonial Faire and Muster, Saturday and Sunday, February 5-6, 2011, from 10 A.M. – 4 P.M. Wormsloe State Historic Site; Super Museum Sunday, Sunday, February 6, 2011, from 12 P.M. – 4 P.M. at multiple sites throughout coastal Georgia; Georgia Day Parade, Friday, February 11, 2011, beginning at 10:30 A.M. along Bull Street from Forsyth Park to City Hall, Savannah; Trustees Gala, Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency, Savannah.

Georgia Historical Society (GHS) is the premier independent statewide institution responsible for collecting, examining and teaching Georgia history. GHS houses the oldest and most distinguished collection of materials related exclusively to Georgia history in the nation.
