Lilly to be Guest Speaker at First Tabernacle

On Sunday, August 12, 2012, Meredith Lilly, Obama for America state director, will be the guest speaker for youth emphasis at First Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church located 310 Alice Street, Savannah, Georgia. Ms. Lilly will challenge our young people to be good Christian citizens. The service will begin at 9:45 AM with Sunday school followed by morning worship at 11 AM.

Meredith Lilly was selected as State Director of Obama for America [Georgia] effective April 2, 2012.

In her role as the director of the state, Lilly will lead Obama staff of employees and volunteers across the state of Georgia by mobilizing and energizing.

Lilly is a great fit for the state of Georgia, bringing a record of experience, innovation and community involvement that will be vital to carrying out the campaign’s work throughout the state. She most recently worked as a Presidential Appointee, as the senior advisor to the Regional Administrator at the United States General Services Administration in Atlanta, Georgia. While at GSA, Lilly remained an active member of the community with positions in her sorority, NAACP and the state bar of Alabama.

Lilly received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Pre-law from Talladega College. She received her Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas.

Students will wear their school colors and participate in a “School Spirit Rally” after worship. Ms. Lilly will meet with local ministers and community leaders at a reception hosted by Pastor Clarence “Teddy” Williams and State Senator Lester Jackson at 2PM.
