Kroger Raises Money Help Savannah Food Bank


After a six-week campaign, Kroger praises its Savannah-area customers and associates for participating in the 2012 Can Hunger campaign, which raised more than $18,500 to benefit America’s Second Harvest of Coastal

Georgia Food Bank.

From Nov. 18 through Dec. 24, Kroger customers supported the annual campaign by purchasing $1, $3 and $5 icons. Each icon purchased benefits Feeding America food banks and helps to provide local families in need with approximately 3.9 to 19.5 meals. The donations collected during the 2012 Can Hunger campaign support the food banks and communities in which they were raised.

In total, Kroger’s Atlanta Division raised more than $478,000 throughout its 213 stores across Georgia, South Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and Northern Alabama.
