Savannah State’s Kameryn Baker was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Softball Player of the Week, according to a release from the conference office Monday morning.

The junior first baseman hit .219 with seven RBI over four games for the Lady Tigers this week. She had 26 putouts and three assists in the field. SSU split the week—falling to USC Beaufort in a doubleheader on Feb. 11, and sweeping Bowie State in a doubleheader on Feb. 14.

Morgan Kramer from Spring Hill College was named the SIAC Pitcher of the Week. Submissions and voting for the weekly award are made by head coaches and sports information directors.

The Lady Tigers return to action on Feb. 21 and 22 in Sumter, S.C. with the SIAC/CIAA Crossover Tournament. They play Johnson C. Smith and Winston Salem State on Feb. 21 and the Lincoln University and Claflin on Feb. 22.

Savannah State returns home on Feb. 29 and March 1 for a threegame, non-conference series against Alabama A&M. First pitch on Saturday is set for 2 p.m.
