Jones Runs for Re-Election for School Board Representative District 8

Ruby D. Jones, the current Savannah Chatham County School Board Representative for District 8 announced that she is seeking re-election for another term on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at First Bryan Baptist Church located at 575 West Bryan Street. Ruby Jones has served three and a half years on the board.

The following have been put in place during her tenure: 1. Passport to Excellence which offers many choices to students as a math and technology school, a career and technology school, core knowledge schools, visual and performing art schools, allied health schools, a maritime school, an alternative education school, a twilight program, AP courses in many schools, charter schools and much more; 2. ESPLOST I, which built several new schools as Butler Elementary School, Pulaski Elementary, Gadsden Elementary School (to be completed before August 2012), Oglethorpe Charter School (to be completed by August 2012), Beach High School ( to be completed by May 2013), New Hampstead High School (to be completed by August 2012) and many more.
