Cynthia Emanuel Johnson, author of Glimpse
is a native of Washington D.C. She moved to Augusta, Georgia at a very young age and attended the public schools in Augusta. She graduated salutatorian of her high school graduating class.
She received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree Brewton Parker College. She was employed as an educator for the Hinesville School System for five years and was awarded the Sallie Mae Teacher of the Year for Liberty County.
Cynthia’s writing career commenced at a very young age when she wrote for her mother because she could not afford a Mother’s Day card. The encouraging words of her mother created in her a desire to continue writing poetry.
During her teenage years, her interest in writing poetry declined and she ceased writing. In college, she met a young man who appealed to her. She regained her interest in writing poetry, and would slip poems into his textbook, knowing that he would find them and acknowledge her poems. The youg man became the love of her life, and her husband of twenty-nine years.
Her writing style has changed from writing the Mother’s Day and romance poems to a unique style of writing Christian poetry. As she matured in her Christian walk, she understood that she was commissioned to go and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Listening to the advice of others and realizing that the publication of a book could reach more than she could, she decided to publish her poetry on a book entitled Glimpse of Light.
Glimpse of Light
was written to encourage Christians and introduce to unbelievers a glimpse of true freedom by acceptance of Jesus Christ. It is intended to remind some and inform others that Jesus Christ is willing and ready to forgive everyone who accepts him as Lord and Savior.
