Sis. Julia E. Johnson, native Savannahian attended the Georgia Missionary Baptist Convention (GMBC) in Rome, Georgia the week of November 9th – 12th. Sis. Johnson was invited to attend The National Ushers/Nurses Summit in St. Louis, Missouri November 13th – 15th.
To Sis. Johnsons surprise, she was presented “The Cross and Crown Award” for her dedicated service as an usher/nurse with in the Convention by Mrs. Sallie Titus, National Usher/Nurse Director with the approval of the National President Dr. William J. Shaw. This is her 30th year in attendance.
Sis. Johnson is the mother of four children, Wanda G. Hopkins, John H. Johnson. II, Dwayne A. Johnson (Deceased) and Kevin C. Johnson. She is a member of Tremont Temple Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Ricky A. Bready, Pastor where she serves as Co-Director of the Ushers Ministry, bible teacher for the Usher and Bus Ministry, Health Care Ministry and History Committee. Community wise she serves as a lay navigator at the Nancy N and J.C. Lewis Cancer and Research Pavilion a volunteer program to help reduce healthcare disparities. Sis. Johnson is a retired nurse after serving 35 years at St. Joseph/Candler Hospital.
Sis. Johnson’s favorite bible verse is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13.
