On May 8, 2015, the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta GA held its 2015 Graduation Exercise for candidates in the Certificate in Theology Program. Ten of the 11 eligible candidates from the Faith Missionary Baptist Church site in Savannah, accompanied by families and friends, journeyed to Atlanta for the ceremony. They joined 72 other students from Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and Louisiana as members of the 2015 graduating class. The graduation address was given by Rev. Dr. Charles E. Thomas, Jr., Vice President for Administrative Services at ITC and ITC President
Dr. Edward L. Wheeler conferred the certificates. The ceremony was held at Antioch Baptist Church where Rev. Dr. C.M. Alexander is Pastor and a reception dinner was held on the ITC campus. The Faith Missionary Baptist Church site in Savannah was designated as a learning center to provide theological education opportunities for pastors, associate ministers, and laypersons. Rev. Dr. Samuel Williams served as the Host Pastor, coordinator and instructor. Dr. Williams, an alumnus of Howard and Emory Universities, champions continuing education and has guided this group of eleven scholars to a higher level of theological competency. The course curriculum included: Old and New Testament, Pastoral Care, Church Administration, History of the African American Church, Preaching and Missiology, Philosophy and Theology and Christian Education.
