The Hungry Club Forum of Savannah, Inc. (HCFS) will host the 5th Annual Heritage Dinner and Coastal Talent Showcase of Savannah and the Low Country, on Friday October 7, 2011, with a receptiondinner beginning at 6:30PM, at the Carey Hilliards Banquet Center, located at 11111 Abercorn St.
The theme for this year’s celebration of our heritage and history is “Embracing and Preserving Our Heritage to Fortify Our Future.”
The much heralded showcase will include some of the hottest, most enjoyable and unique talent acts in the area. In addition, Richard Shinhoster of the Diaspora Marketplace will present an exhibit and display of African attire and artifacts reflecting our history and culture.
The event provides the perfect occasion to treat staff members, business and social acquaintances with an evening of fun and entertainment, not to mention the popular shrimp-chicken-barbeque buffet at Carey Hilliards’s banquet center.
The HCFS, a nonprofit organization, will use the proceeds to assist in continuing to fund its educational, community economic development and cultural enrichment issues programs.
According to Bishop Willie Ferrell, HCFS President, “The Heritage Dinner and Showcase spotlights some of the unique and outstanding talent in the area community, in addition to providing an opportunity to fellowship, network and enjoy great entertainment and food.”
