Community Economic Developer Gwen Glover will facilitate a Community Roundtable Discussion and Open Forum during the monthly breakfast program of the Hungry Club Forum of Savannah, Inc., to be held on Saturday April 3, 2010, at 9:30 AM, in the Multipurpose Annex of the West Broad Street YMCA, located at 1110 May Street, near W. Gwinnett.
President Barack Obama continues to deliver a message that says, “We Must Become the Change That We Want to See.”
We must begin to be more vigilant and focused in our visions of change and progress beginning on the local level. Forum participants will look at how power affects the individual and the community, and will engage in a number of exercises that will show the role of power in our lives, focusing on some useful tools and skills that will allow us to be more successful in our approaches to individual and collective community development.
Glover holds a Master’s Degree in Urban Studies, majoring in community and economic development. She has been engaged in a variety of projects in the community, including the Gentrification Task Force, the Savannah Entrepreneurial Center, the Covenant With Black Savannah, and Individual Development Account small business development programs.
