The Housing Authority of Savannah honored 20 years of dedication and service to public housing communities by public housing residents through the nonprofit corporation, Neighborhood Residents at Work, Inc. (NRAW), on Thursday, December 17, 2009.

Neighborhood Residents at Work, Inc. was formed by public housing residents in 1989 under the guidance of Ms. Lois Milton, then Housing Authority of Savannah, Resident Services Coordinator.

For 20 years, this organization has spearheaded residents in beautification projects, National Night Out activities, Drug Prevention activities during National Red Ribbon Week, and fundraising to provide food baskets to residents in need during the holidays.

Neighborhood Residents at Work includes member representatives from all nine public housing neighborhoods. The celebration on included leadership training by the University of Phoenix followed by a luncheon, where long-time volunteers were recognized.

Activities were held in the Temple of Glory Eden Room.
