Historic Carver Village Seeks Federal Historic Designation

In an effort to raise funds to support required signage for federal historic designation by the State of Georgia and federal government, the Historic Carver Village Neighborhood Association will host a “Historical Carver Village Family Luncheon” on Saturday, March 5, 2015 from 11:00am to 4:00pm at the Community Center, 905 Collat Street, Savannah, Georgia 31415. Suggested donation is $10.00 per plate. The meal includes your choice of baked chicken, fried chicken, fried fish, collard greens or green beans, red rice or potato salad, roll, cake and beverage. Funds from this event will be used to replace the signs in the front and back of the village to represent the recent historical designation of the Historical Carver Village neighborhood. Designation from the State of Georgia and federal government will help strengthen and support programming offered at the newly renovated center. Officers and members of the neighborhood association extend a warm welcome to residents, current and former, and all members of the local community to attend this luncheon and support the neighborhood’s growth and expansion.
