High School Blood Donors Win iPads

Throughout the year, The Blood Alliance (TBA) hosts regularly scheduled blood drives at participating high schools within its tristate blood collection service areas in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Targeting younger donors in high school is essential for TBA to grow its donor base and to highlight the importance of blood donation as a civic responsibility.

As a way of thanking students who participated in the blood drives throughout the year, a random drawing was held that included all high school donors within TBA’s tri-state area who gave blood in 2012 with The Blood Alliance. None of the students were aware that they may be rewarded with a prize for their act of nobleness. Three winners were surprised with the news that they were randomly selected to win iPads as a result of their blood donations. Congratulations to Jessica Jaffie at Memorial Day School.
