On Wednesday April 14, 2010 the annual banquet for the CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organizations) of Jenkins High School was held at Carey Hilliard’s Restaurant, and what a night it was. The Future Business Leaders of America, Technology Student Association, Future Educators of America, Family Consumer and Community Leaders of America, and the Work Based Learning groups were all in attendance at the banquet.
This night is set aside each year so that students can be recognized for their outstanding achievements and for their untiring work in their organization.
School Principal, Mr. William Brannen, made note of the importance of not only excelling in academics, but joining organizations such as these that students can use once out of school and in the work force.
Daryl Dhanraj, President of Future Business Leaders of America, said that he enjoyed the night. “I loved all my four years in FBLA and this was a great event to bring it all together.” Community partners were also in attendance. These businesses gave students in the Work Based Learning program a chance to get a jump start on their experience in the work force and acted as mentors for the students. Gulfstream Aerospace, Food Lion, The
Upscale Images, Cold Stone Creamery, Forest City Gun Club, Justice, and Chic -Fil- A were among the community partners. everyone enjoyed the night focused on saluting our future leaders.
