Greenbriar Children’s Center Celebrates 70 Successful Years With Anniversary Gala

 
 

Greenbriar Children’s Center is celebrating 70 years of lending helping hands and bringing hope to the hearts of countless Savannah families and children. To commemorate this impressive milestone, Greenbriar is holding its 70th Anniversary Gala at 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019 at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront, 100 General McIntosh Blvd.

This black-tie gala will feature live music and entertainment by New Arts Ensembles and Violinist, Jalin Graham, a catered dinner and refreshments, a silent auction, and presentations in tribute to Greenbriar’s proud history of nurturing children and strengthening families, valued donors and cherished volunteers. Honorary chairmen and speakers include First African Baptist Church Pastor Reverend Thurmond N. Tillman and Mr. Scott Center, World Trade Center Savannah Board of Directors Chairman and owner of National Office Systems. “We invite local residents and supporters to help us celebrate 70 wonderful years of making a difference in our community,” said Greenbriar’s Executive Director Gena Taylor. “Greenbriar is gratified to be able to celebrate this significant milestone within our organization and continue our mission of serving Savannah’s families and children with the support of the community.”

The gala’s top sponsor is Gamma Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the founding organization of Greenbriar Children’s Center. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for this commemorative event, and those interested may pledge support at various levels: Diamond Sponsor for $7,500, Gold Sponsor for $5,000, Ruby Sponsor for $2,500, and Table Sponsor for $1,500. To continue the celebration of its 70th anniversary year, Greenbriar also plans to participate in Savannah State University’s Homecoming parade, set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Their 70th anniversary themed float will feature special decorations.
