Greenbriar Children’s Center held its Annual Meeting and Volunteers of the Year Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, February
22, 2017 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah.
Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch and fellowship as they celebrated the nonprofit organizations tremendous accomplishments over the past year. Greenbriar presented awards to their volunteers of the year, and the community partner and media partner of the year. Those recognized included: • 2016 Media Partner of the Year – WTOC TV • 2016 Individual Volunteer of the Year – Chief Warrant Officer 2 Martavia Jones • 2016 Community Partner of the Year – The Junior League of Savannah • 2016 Servant Leadership Award – Berean Missionary Baptist Association • 2016 Corporate Volunteer of the Year – Red River
“Greenbriar’s mission could not be accomplished without the support we receive from our donors and volunteers,” said Executive Director Gena Taylor. “It is truly a privilege to honor and recognize these individuals and organizations each year.”
The mission of Greenbriar Children’s Center is to provide childcare, residential and family counseling services which lead to the healthy development of children and young adults and to the strengthening of families. The nonprofit organization’s services include emergency shelter, residential care, runaway/homeless programs, independent living, family preservation, early childhood development programs, and Project Safe Place.
