Greater Gaines to hold Appreciation Celebration for Pastor Bernard Clarke

The Senior Steward Board, the Helping Hands Ministry and the Greater Gaines A.M.E. Church located 1006 May Street, will hold an Appreciation Celebration for their Pastor, Reverend Bernard Clarke, beginning with a spirit filled celebration Thursday, May 19 – Friday, May 20, 2011, 7:00PM.

The guest messengers will be Rev. George Clarke and Evangelist Mattie Green of Sylvania, Georgia. The celebration will culminate on Sunday, May 22, 2011, 11:00AM, with Rev. Eugene Barney and the Richmond Baptist Church family of Port Wentworth, Georgia. We are inviting the entire Savannah Community and beyond to come and help us lift high the name of Jesus as we honor this dynamic man of God.

Reverend Bernard Clarke is the Senior Pastor of Greater Gaines Chapel AME Church, Savannah, GA. Pastor Clarke, accepted his call to ministry in 1991, preached his initial sermon at historic St. James AME Church, Savannah, GA, which was under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Dan Stevenson, the Presiding Elder of the Waycross District. He was ordained an Itinerant Elder in April1995. Pastor Clarke is an educator within the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System. He teaches Collision Repair Technology at the Woodville Tompkins Career Academy.

As a pastor, educator and community organizer for more than twenty years, he has coordinated events and facilitated Visioning Sessions, District Meetings, Leadership Retreats, Training Sessions, Community Events, and Plenary Sessions. Pastor Clarke is a visionary, who is truly on the move for Christ.
