Greater Gaines Chapel Host Meet And Greet Reception

There is a time and season for all things and God saw fit to take Greater Gaines Chapel AME Church into a new season. The Old Georgia Conference, 6th Episcopal District, assigned a new church pastor to shepherd the flock.

The Pastor’s Aide Board, Helping Hands Ministry, hosted a meet & greet reception on Sunday, April 17, 2016 to welcome their new pastor, Reverend William E. Thomas, Jr., First Lady Minister Angela Covington-Thomas, and their infant son, William (Trey) Thomas, III.

The reception was held in Greater Gaines’ new multiplex building immediately following the morning service. Mr. Roy Jackson was the moderator for the event. The guests included were family members of the pastor and first lady from South Carolina and the Atlanta area as well as members of the local community and congregation.

The morning service included welcome remarks from the board officers and presentation of gifts from the congregation. First Lady, Minister Angela Thomas, added a lighter side to the service with whimsical notes about the pastor.

Greater Gaines invites everyone to come and worship with joy thanksgiving for the man chosen by God to be our new shepherd at 11 a.m. Sunday services, Sunday School 9:45 a.m., and Bible Study every Tuesday 7 p.m.
