Beginning in June, the international renowned Golf Channel will air highlights of the 26th Annual PGA Minority Colligate Golf Championship that was played on May 11 – 13 in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Savannah State’s Cedomir Ilic finished at the top of the individual field in the PGA Minority Golf Championship with a threeday total of 220 (76-72-72) garnering Savannah State’s first PGA Minority Golf National Championship. The SSU men’s team finished third overall with a three-day total of 911 (304-308-299), seven strokes behind the leaders.
The first scheduled air time will be on Wednesday, June 20 from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. EST. A repeat of the original highlights will be on Monday July 2 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. EST, and August 14 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. EST.
Joining the men at the PGA National Championship was Savannah State’s Michelle Gifford who was the first female golf athlete in school history to qualify and finish competition in the annual PGA Minority Championship. She finished the tournament in sixth place with a score of 281 (98-90- 93).
