After the untimely death of their beloved Pastor, Dr. Frederick A. Fearbry in November 2009, the members labored in unity to select the Pastor God had already chosen to lead them to the next level. On Wednesday, August 18, 2010 the congregation elected by an overwhelming majority, Pastor Paul Anthony Sheppard, former Pastor of the Third Baptist Church of Hampton, Virginia.

Milton Sheppard, was the pastor for 39 years of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church of Alexandria, Virginia, as well as Warner Baptist Church of Cross Roads, and the Mt. In July, 2004 he accepted the call to serve as Pastor of the Second Baptist Church in Clifton, Virginia. Under his leadership the church experienced tremendous growth spiritually, financially, and numerically. Sixty per cent of the church membership were tithers.
In November 2006 he accepted the call to become Pastor at Third Baptist Church of Hampton, where among other accomplishments, he implemented a radio ministry-“The Voice of Hope”-a Family Life Ministry, a Technology Ministry, a Health Awareness Ministry, a Deaf Ministry, and a Youth Step Team.
