Georgia Legislative Black Caucus will hold their annual Leadership Conference in Savannah at the DeSoto Hilton – Savannah on August 10-12, 2017. The theme is “One Georgia, One Vision, One Future. This event will be hosted by Senator Lester Jackson, III, Chairman; Representative Sandra Scott, Vice Chairman and Justin Tanner, Executive Director.
This event brings together both legislative issues and business leaders for two days to talk about upcoming legislation and the needs of Georgia’s citizens.
On Friday, August 11th, the Caucus will include the Calvin Smyre Economic Empowerment Luncheon. Keynote Speaker is Adrianna Clark, South- east Region Director, Office of Small & Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) ; U.S. Department of Transportation
Also included is a Conflict Resolution Workshop. The guest speaker will be Rebekah Ratliff, President Capital City Mediations, LLC.
Rebekah Ratliff is a native of Chicago, Illinois. A University of Illinois graduate, she is degreed in the discipline of Psychology. Mrs. Ratliff is a credentialed former insurance professional with expertise in complex casualty claims loss matters.
Rebekah made a career transition to Alternative Dispute Resolution after 25 years of managing and negotiating complex insurance claims for major carriers, countrywide and globally. President of Capital City Mediations, LLC based in Atlanta, she is registered with the State of Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution as a civil and domestic Mediator and Arbitrator. She offers Mediation, Case Evaluation and Consultation services.
On Saturday, August 12th, the Caucus will include Eugene Tillman Prayer Breakfast. Keynote Speaker will be Bishop Reginald T. Jackson, Presiding Prelate, Sixth Episcopal District, African Methodist Episcopal Church and a Town Hall Discussion on Poverty, Education, Healthcare and Economic Empowerment –“The State of Black Georgia
