Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated celebrated the Christmas season by giving back to community organizations that support childhood development and strengthening of families in the Savannah and Chatham County. The Gamma Sigma Omega chapter donated a total of $11,000 which was dispersed to West Broad
Street YMCA, Economic Opportunity Authority for Savannah-Chatham County, and Greenbriar Children’s Center.
Alpha Kappa Alpha is the oldest Greek lettered sorority established by African American women and is led by its 29th International President Dorothy Buckhanan Wilson under the programmatic theme, Launching New Dimensions of Service. Gamma Sigma Omega chapter has served Chatham County for 73 years through its initiatives and partnerships. Currently, under the leadership of S. Renee Grant, GSO has dedicated its skills, resources and energy to addressing the needs of the community.
