Girls on the Run of Coastal Georgia’s registration for the fall season is now open. Girls on the Run is a physical-activity based, positive youth development (PA-PYD) program that inspires girls in 3rd through 8th grade to be joyful, healthy and confident. The volunteer-led program brings together groups of 8-15 girls for a 10-week season that encourages personal development, team building and connection to the community. The program currently serves girls in all 50 states and the District of Columbia and has had over one million total participants.
“GOTR makes such a difference in the lives of girls when they are questioning their own selfworth and trying to meet the expectations of others. The strength, confidence, and joy gained are empowering for our next generation of leaders,” says Beth Aldrich, executive director. The program fee for the fall season is $175, and scholarship funding is available if needed. The program fee includes the 10-week program, two shirts and registration for the end-of-season 5k event, as well as a water bottle, healthy snacks after every lesson and a finisher’s medal. More information about the program, registration and volunteering can be found on the Girls on the Run of Coastal Georgia’s website at www.girlsontherun ga.org.
