Georgia Theatre Company and Variety of Georgia, the Children’s Charity, presented an early Christmas gift to seven year old Ebony Hernandez of Savannah at the grand opening of the theatre company’s new Pooler Stadium Cinemas 12.
Ebony, who has cerebral palsy and lives with her parents Jessica and David, received a custom built adaptive bicycle at the opening ceremonies for the theatre. Ebony had surgery last year enabling her to walk short distances with a wheeled walker. This bicycle, sponsored by Georgia Theatre Company, will provide her with additional exercise at home which will contribute to increased strength, balance and coordination. Variety of Georgia is a children’s charity organization dedicated to improving the lives of children through creative fund-raising efforts, well-placed donations with exceptional children’s charities, and through its own charitable programs. The main mission of the organization is to aid and enhance the lives of children in need who may be physically challenged, have mental disabilities, live in poverty, and are abused or neglected.
