Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church presents Operation Reunited Coalition, Inc., in partnership with Motivated Achievers, Inc. These non-profit organizations will be hosting Generation Summerfest 2013 from July 29 thru August 1, from 9am-2:15pm at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 1008 May Street, Savannah, GA 31415. The seminar is open to Chatham County youth and young adults ages 8-22. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $20.00. There is still time to register. The seminar will be four days of self and spiritual enrichment and experts will be teaching the topics that youth and young adults can relate to: The New & Improved Me, Parenthood/Sexual Abuse, Gang Violence, Physical Fitness, Bullying, Manhood/Womanhood, Substance Abuse, Theology, Gun Violence, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Resume Writing. We will have a mock funeral and testimonies from victims of violence. On Thursday, August 1, there will be a Job & Career Fair from 9am-12pm, with representatives from Job Corps, branches of the military, area colleges and universities, the Georgia Department of Labor, and various local businesses.
Generation Summerfest 2013 will culminate with a graduation ceremony, which will be held on Thursday,
August 1 at 12 noon. The keynote speaker will be District Attorney Meg Heap. A luncheon will follow the ceremony. The cost of the luncheon is $10. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Jackie Smalls-Bostick (DoNHisWill@aol.com or 912.547.6669). It is very important that you RSVP so that adequate preparations can be accomplished. If you desire to attend the Graduation Ceremony only, a ticket is not needed.
We will be hosting a family day picnic on Friday, August 2, from 3-7 pm at Daffin Park, located on Victory Drive. There will be food, music, games and a chance to win an iPad. Local organizations within our community will be there as well. So join us as we work to reunite our community.
